whether it's a bath or a pool he loves to "swim." Kyle can say "mama," "dada," "Di-di" (Dylan), "nigh, nigh" (night-night), "bye-bye," and "awa" (Spanish for water). He loves to give hugs and kisses, wrestle with Dylan, wave, clap and dance. I'm amazed at how well he can hold his own. Dylan can be rough sometimes and Kyle just loves it. I have a feeling I am going to be in for it in a few years! I cannot imagine what my life was like before this angel entered my heart. I am truly blessed to have two amazing, smart, loving, healthy boys. Aaron and I are constantly looking at each other and just smiling.

Here are a couple pics of Kyle and his birthday celebrations in Inverness and Miami...

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; We recently returned from Miami where we had a fabulous time and Dylan got extremely spoiled, and are frantically trying to get ready for the movers on Thursday. It doesn't help that I have been sick with a terrible cold since we got back, but I am slowly feeling better. I went to the doctor for my check up last week and little baby boy is doing great! He is moving around like crazy and even kicked the doctor as he was checking his heartbeat...too cute. We think we have his name picked out and I will share as soon as Aaron confirms that yes, it's the name (he tends to change his mind often).
Big news with Dylan...he is officially potty trained! No more accidents and has done such a GREAT job, we are so proud of our little guy! Another big accomplishment is no more pacifier! One day after the potty training was down pat, Aaron and I looked at each other and said tonight is the night and viola gone, with little complaining. The funny thing is every once in a while he will ask for it and we just say "no, sorry honey, but we gave them away." Dylan will then look at me and say, "OK, mommy, can we go store?" He is too funny! When we go to the grocery store and we go through the baby aisle Dylan says, "Look, mommy, paci dere get one peeze!" His speech and vocabulary is amazing! He cracks Aaron and I up constantly! Dylan's next big step will be the big boy bed! I am really nervous about this next venture, but I know he will do great!

I will post pictures of the new house soon! As well as pictures of Dylan from over the holidays!

The Ultimate Blog Slacker!

Yes, I admit it, I am the ultimate blog slacker, but for good reason! We are so very excited and I am so happy that Dylan will have a little friend forever! Now the baby name search begins! I had my girl name set in stone, but the boy name is a little more complicated. I thought I had the name down, but Aaron isn't 100%, so we will see!

Other exciting news...we closed on our house!!! We are so excited!!! We have decided to move in after the holidays as to cause the least amount of stress possible!

We are busy preparing for the holidays. We have family coming in this weekend and staying until Tuesday and then more family coming in on Christmas day. After Christmas we are going to Miami to see the rest of our families and spend New Years there. When we return we have one week to move! Crazy!!!

Dylan at the Christmas tree farm searching for the perfect tree! He turned two on the 24th!!! It seems like the day he woke up on his birthday he started talking (in complete sentences) and has not stopped ever since! He cracks Aaron and I up constantly and just love hearing what may come out of his mouth next! His latest 2 year check up stats are as follows...weight 27.7 lbs (50%) and height 36 inches (80%)...tall and thin! The doctor came in and said "Hi Dylan, how are you today?" Dylan replied "I good dotor, doe shot peeze" (I'm good doctor, no shot please...it was too funny) She laughed and said there is definitely no problem with his vocabulary. He showed off all of his skills and mommy was very proud. He still loves to eat a variety of food and has become extremely more active if that is at all possible!

My sweet little munchkin!

Tower of doughnuts for his 2nd birthday cake! I LOVE my birthday!!!"

Big news with Dylan...we have started potty training and so far so good. He has one or two accidents a day, but overall he is doing great! Next comes the big bed, a new house and bye-bye paci (he still uses one to go to bed at night)! Poor baby a lot of changes in a short amount of time before the baby comes. The doctor said it was important for us make whatever changes by February, because he may resent the baby (example, why is my little brother sleeping in my bed?!) Yeah, that may cause a problem, so we are testing out the new bed when we move into the new house we will see how it goes although I wish I could keep him in the crib forever!

Random pictures of Dylan...

Dylan painting his pumpkin for Halloween

Jack and Dylan at the pumpkin patch

At the zoo with Jack and Dylan during Jack's stay with us

WE DID IT!!!

We finally bought a house!!! I still can't believe it! After 6 months of really searching, many offers not accepted, and many tears shed with frustration and anxiety...we did it! We put in an offer and the same day they accepted, no counter-offer, no surprises, nothing...amazing! We close in the middle of December. Now comes a whole new set of stresses...moving right before Christmas, packing while preggers and chasing a 2 year old, and trying my hardest not to kill my husband! Aaron is the type of guy who likes to do everything himself, including moving! He says he will recruit a couple of guys from the team and have them come help and move all of the furniture...lets just say this scares the heck out of me. Yes, my husband is strong and more than capable of lifting heavy furniture, but moving with care...not so much! Yesterday was our first disagreement about the house...I want movers and he doesn't. Guess what...I won!!! The only stipulation is that I have to organize everything and instruct the movers. He wants nothing to do with it...not too bad of a compromise since that is exactly what I wanted. Oh, isn't marriage grand?! Just kidding honey, thank you and I love you! I will keep everyone up to date on the house as we go along! (My camera is still in the shop so pictures will come soon!)

Random updates

Sorry I have been such a slacker in the blogging department, but I've been pretty busy. Aaron and I got the pleasure of taking care of my 3 year old nephew, Jack, for 11 days while his parents went to London with the New Orleans Saints (JP, Jack's dad, works for the Saints). Dylan was in absolute heaven having a constant playmate! They were so very cute together. Everything one did the other just followed along! Grandma Linda and aunt Kristen came to visit Jack and Dylan for the weekend and we had a great time! I'm so excited...Kristen bought her wedding dress while she was here! She looked breathtaking, and of course I cried! (Just a side note...I picked out the dress!!!)

The morning after Jack left Aaron went on his annual golf trip with his friends. I think Dylan really wanted to torture me because he woke up with a terrible cold the morning Aaron left and was up all night, every night he was gone! Let's just say being pregnant and taking care of a 3 year old and 2 year old for 11 days and then taking care of a sick 2 year old alone for 5 days after is quite exhausting!!! Of course the day Aaron returned Dylan felt much better and decided it was time to sleep through the night again! Aaron decided that it was only fair to give me a much needed break and on Friday I went and got a manicure and pedicure (one of my favorite things to do) and went shopping ALONE (which I haven't done in a very long time and is another one of my favorite things to do)! I bought plenty of maternity clothes for the season and shopped until I got home and literally dropped! I took a nap, which is something I never get the chance to do and woke up to a loving husband and baby! What a great day...THANKS HONEY!!!

What's new with Dylan? Well Dylan is almost 2! I can't believe it, in a couple of weeks my little angel will be 2 whole years old...let's just say, I'm in denial! He is cuter and sweeter than ever! He is talking up a storm. His favorite sayings are "What are you doing?, where are you going?, What's that?, Okay, mommy, and last but certainly not least WHY?" I think he is a little young for this but oh my word, every time he asks a question and you give him what you think is a very clear answer he comes back with "Why?" every once in a while he will say "oh or okay,' but most of the time it's "why?" He is still a great eater, he loves meatballs, chicken, peas, carrots (with ranch to dip) he loves dipping things, corn on the cob, and applesauce (which he insists on feeding to himself!) Everything is now "I do it." His favorite thing to do is kick the ball with daddy. Aaron said the other day, "I never thought I could actually play pass with Dylan at 2, but this great." I definitely think Dylan is following after his daddy's footsteps! Dylan was a skeleton for Halloween and was so stinking adorable! I will post pictures soon (my camera is in the shop getting fixed so it might be a little while). We didn't go trick-or-treating, we just gave out candy and he thought it was great. There was a little boy dressed as Diego and Dylan kept yelling "Diego, Diego" as if Diego really came to his house...too funny!

As for me, I am still recovering from a very busy month, but overall feel good. We find out whether we are having a boy or a girl on the 4th which is so exciting. We wanted to find out before Thanksgiving, but they wanted to wait until 20 weeks, sorry fam! My cravings with this pregnancy are soup (any kind), blueberry bagels, and salad. Not too bad considering with Dylan my cravings included a visit to Dunkin doughnuts and Burger King (gross I know)! I think we are having a girl and Aaron thinks it's a boy...we will see!

Sorry for such a long post, I promise the next one with consist of mostly pictures and less catch-up! We miss everyone very much and can't wait for Thanksgiving! We are renting a 31 foot RV and traveling to Florida with Kristen and Adam! It should be lots of fun!

99 Balloons

After wiping the tears from my eyes after yesterday's Oprah, I decided that for those who did not get the opportunity to watch it must see this story of a father and mothers love for their miracle baby...

http://www.oprah.com/media/20081001_tows_99balloons

Baby Hume Update!

We went to the doctor's office yesterday for our 12 week check up and got to hear Baby Hume's little heartbeat! He is so lovable and has just recently started saying I love you ("wuv you"), which I must say is by far the sweetest thing in the world. His favorite thing to do lately is hide. He takes the cushions off the couch and hides and yells for you to get him! It is too funny, if you wait too long he stands up and says..."surprise!" He is still extremely active! He loves to play golf, soccer and football! Every time he throws a football he yells "touchdown...go gators!" It drives Aaron crazy...but I love it! Dylan loves to go to the park and just be outside. My dear friend Mollie told me about a show on PBS called Super Why! and it has become Dylan's favorite! His favorite food is still peas, chicken and watermelon and luckily he really eats a great variety of food! After talking to so many of my friends I feel extremely lucky that he is not a picky eater. Aaron and I are so extremely blessed to have a healthy, sweet baby boy and pray the same for our soon-to-be little angel!

BIG NEWS!!!

I am so excited to finally share with everyone....we are having another baby!!! We are beyond excited, although the morning sickness (or should I say all day sickness is not so fun)! It has been quite a challenge chasing Dylan and gathering the energy to just function. It's amazing how we mothers forget the yuckiness of early pregnancy when we look at our little bundles of joy, but trust me when I say it is well worth it! We are so very blessed!

There must be something in the water because I have six girlfriends who are expecting! He is definitely one of the most active 20 months olds I have ever seen. He doesn't stop, that is unless Go, Diego, Go is on (which is still his favorite show)! I have been watching the Olympics and what do you know, I think Dylan might just become an Olympian one day. Don't ask me in what sport though, he is still perfecting his skills! We were watching gymnastics the other day with Kristen and Adam, who stopped by for a night on their way home to Charlotte from Florida, and Dylan tried to copy the men on TV...too funny. The biggest news with Dylan would be that we are starting to potty train and every night before his bath he pee-pees in the potty! He is so proud of himself; it's just too cute. He is definitely expanding his vocabulary also. He tries his hardest to form complete sentences, but it is still jumbled in his own language. He gets a little frustrated with me when I don't understand, but I'm trying! He will repeat the alphabet and numbers, which is so darn cute! His favorite foods are still green peas, hot dogs, applesauce and watermelon, but the kid will really eat anything! He just got his second haircut and he now looks like a little man! (I'll post pics soon, the pics are still on my camera.) Dylan loves to sing and dance. The little guy hears music and just starts dancing. Dylan really is a joy to raise. Aaron and I are so very blessed and love him to pieces!

As for news with us, we have been househunting and going crazy! We are finally back from our 3 week long vacation and I think I'm ready for a vacation from our vacation! Ha:) Here's a recap along with a few pictures from our trip.

Our plans changed slightly before we left due to Dylan getting very sick. We were supposed to visit my parents in NC the week before we left but Dylan got a really high fever (104 to be exact) so they came to us instead and off to the doctor we went. Our doctor said he just had a sore throat and to just give him Motrin for the fever along with some TLC. Our little peanut's fever lasted 5 days and then got a rash all over his body...poor baby! He was miserable! We thought we were going to have to postpone our trip, but thank God the day before we left our little guy was doing much better!

Here is Dylan snug as a bug on our long journey (9 1/2 hours) to Hollywood, FL

Check out how packed our car was! Poor Dylan and Victor were surrounded! Thank goodness for portable DVD players, Sesame Street CDs, and snacks galore!

Aaron made great timing and we arrived right on schedule! We stayed in a beautiful condo less than a block from the ocean. We stayed there for two weeks and different family members came and went throughout the two weeks. We had a GREAT time! Dylan absolutely LOVED the ocean and pool! He was fearless; he would jump in the pool and ask us NOT to catch him...CRAZY, HUH?!!! We could not believe it! We are definitely putting him in swim lessons ASAP! One of our friends had an underwater camera and took a pic of Dylan and Aaron underwater that is hilarious. I am waiting for them to send it and I'll post!

Here are various pictures...

Dylan showing off his water skills! For months I have been very stressed out about what I was going to do for his 30th and how I was going to plan something from so far away. I was sure everything was going to work out when Aaron adminantly squated every idea. He really doesn't like all the attention that a birthday brings and was very clear that he wanted nothing done. I tried and pleaded, but failed and since I love my husband and love being married to him I decided to oblige to his request. Aaron's wonderful brother and Dylan's godfather, Kevin thought Aaron's request was ridiculous and planned a very nice dinner at Mai Kai (a Polynesian restaurant with a live fire show!) We had a great time although Aaron was not thrilled with Kevin after he had to go on stage and dance! He was such a great sport!
HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY HONEY! I LOVE YOU!!!

Here are a few pictures from the evening...

Aaron and I

Kevin and Nicole

Aaron with his cousins, Marc & Jeff

Aaron on stage with the Polynesian dancer!

May all of your wishes come true honey!

After two incredibly fun weeks at the beach with our dear family and friends we went to our old house for another week. Kevin has been renting out our old house from us and he was gracious enough to have us there for a week. Kevin celebrated his birthday (July 15th) by throwing a Crawfish Bash. Nicole (Kevin's girlfriend) ordered 30 lbs of live crawfish and a great time was had by all!

Here are a couple of pics of Kevin's Crawfish Birthday Bash...

Dylan and Nicole

Don't do it Roy!!!

Uncle Brandon showing Dylan the crawfish!

Aaron and Kevin's family and friends!

It was wonderful spending so much time with our friends and family, but we were definitely happy to be home! Aaron recently got a new office away from home (he has been working from the house since we moved, but with a rambunctious toddler it wasn't easy getting any work done) and all of a sudden I have become Dylan's favorite person! Yes, it took 18 months and Aaron leaving for 8 hours a day in order for this to occur, but I am not complaining; I am eating it up! I no longer have to ask Dylan for a kiss, he just comes up to me and lays one on me. When Aaron comes home he does get excited and greets him lovingly, but then it's back to me! I just thought I would share that my son FINALLY realizes that I should have been his favorite all along...just kidding honey, I love you!!!

Upcoming Chaos!

We will definitely be busy for the next month or so. My mother-in-law is coming in town tomorrow with Aaron's Aunt Patti for an upcoming wedding in Savannah. They're flying here and then driving down for the wedding. Afterwards she is going to be spending some time with us and especially Dylan. I have missed her very much since we moved and am looking forward to her spending some time with us.

Then my cutie cousin Victor (10) is coming (Monday) to spend some time with us for the summer. He is flying solo and coming for a few weeks! Victor is one of Dylan's favorite people in the whole world! Every time I tell Dylan that Victor is coming he starts clapping and yelling! It is so cute! Victor is very excited and so are we!

Then on Friday (June 20) my best friend, Jill, her husband, Bobby and her son, Collin (15 months) are coming! I am so excited, I haven't seen Jill since Dylan was 7 months old, almost a year! I can't to see how the boys interact!

I am then going to try and visit my mom in NC so that she can spend a little time with Victor and Dylan before we go to Miami for 3 weeks! Victor is going to drive down with us which will be a BIG help since we haven't had a big road trip with Dylan yet. We are staying at the beach for 2 weeks with all of Aaron's family and then we will be in our old house for the last week of our vacation!

I am so excited about all of the upcoming guests and vacations but am tired already and it hasn't even started yet! I'll try and post pictures along the way.

Dylan’s 18 months old!

Dylan just went to the doctors on Monday for his 18 month check up. I feel as if we have been going nonstop. Here is a recap of what we were up to in May.

On May 9th we celebrated our dear family friend, Dana’s, 60th birthday. We had 10 family members come in town for the celebration and everyone stayed with us! It was great! I even got a much needed girls night out of it which was fantastic! (I didn't take my camera so I will try and get some pics soon and post.)

Aaron and I took Dylan to Zoo Atlanta with a couple of our friends, Justin & Kristen and he LOVED it. He copied the monkeys, go figure, and loved the big petting zoo. Compared to the zoo in Miami, Atlanta’s zoo was very small, but just perfect for a toddler!

Daddy and Dylan checking out the monkeys

Dylan up close and personal with a billy goat!

After all of our company left, I was starting to feel like I was getting sick, and boy was I right…I got a terrible cold, which lasted almost two weeks! Aaron was a big help with Dylan while I tried to recuperate. Meanwhile, my brother, Joey, was graduating from Columbia University and I wasn’t going to miss it for anything. I flew to NYC, solo, sick and all, and saw my big bro receive his masters degree (he likes to be called “Master Joe,” but it’s not happening)! CONGRATULATIONS JOEY, I am so very proud of you! Aaron did a fantastic job taking care of Dylan all by himself, even though while I was gone Dylan starting feeling sick as well. I took him to the doctor when I returned and he had bronchitis. There is nothing more pitiful than when your baby is sick and you feel a little responsible for making him feel that way! Don’t worry, he was feeling better in just a couple of days, strong little guy.

Joey and his proud little sis

Aaron and I wrapped up the month by hosting a BBQ with a couple of friends and their sweet little girl for Memorial Day. We had a great time! My parents came on the Sunday before Memorial Day and got to stay with us for a week! My mom had business in Atlanta during the week so Billy came along and helped me out with Dylan. Dylan sure does love his Grammy, Papaw & Ruff (Sebastian, my parents’ little dog)! During my mom’s business meetings she got offered a job here in Atlanta. We are so excited! I would love if my parents could move here! We find out more of the details this week so I will keep everyone posted!

What's been new with Dylan?

Daddy bought Dylan an All-Star Sports Slide for the backyard. We have had such beautiful weather here that Aaron and I decided to get something fun for Dylan to play with outside and he LOVES it! He dunks the basketball, throws the football (a future Dan Marino maybe?!), kicks the soccer ball of course, and climbs up and down the slide over and over! Here are a few pictures of Dylan in action...

A couple of weeks ago our local elementary school was having a Carnival so we decided to check it out. It was so neat; there were families everywhere and different activities for children of all ages. Dylan's favorite was the petting zoo area. I knew he was wonderful in many ways, but romance was not always his strong suit. Well let me be the first to say how wrong I was. A couple of weeks ago Aaron called my mom and arranged for her to come and watch Dylan so that he could take me on a little getaway, just the two of us. Of course my mom was able and willing, meanwhile telling me she had to come to Atlanta on business. Aaron acted surprised when I told him my mom was coming in town and said "great, maybe she can watch Dylan so we can go out to a nice dinner Saturday night." I was excited and couldn't wait (we don't get out much)! Earlier in the week my aunt called and said that she and Victor (my cousin) were also coming in town for the weekend. Dylan LOVES Victor and Victor LOVES Dylan. They are precious together.

Aaron told me that I need to pack an overnight bag because he had a special surprise for me after his soccer game on Saturday. I didn't have the best reaction, I told him that with Terri and Victor in town, I really didn't want to go anywhere. He was a little disappointed and I felt terrible, so I obliged. I really didn't know what exactly he had planned. He told me that we were going to his soccer game and from there we were going to Chateau Elan, a beautiful resort and vineyard! How exciting! I have not seen Aaron play in a soccer game since I was pregnant with Dylan. It was great, his team won and off we were. He then informed me of all the planning he had done in order to make it all possible and I was so proud. When we got to the resort, we had a light lunch at Paddy's Irish Pub and walked over to the vineyard, where we took a wine tour and tasting. The only negative part of our getaway was the wine...it was terrible! (I am not a wine expert, but not one person on our tour enjoyed the wine so we weren't the only ones.) We didn't let that stop us though, we walked back to the inn and had a great time listening to the jazz band before getting ready for a wonderful dinner at Cafe Elan. The next morning Aaron had arranged spa treatments for us before heading home. The perfect ending to a much needed, romantic getaway! Thank you honey, you ARE romantic and don't ever let me tell you otherwise!!!

Dylan and Mommy go to NC

This past weekend Dylan and I had the opportunity to spend some time with some much missed friends and family. (Aaron had a golf weekend in Georgia, so Dylan and I got kicked out. Just kidding we left willingly, 12 guys and 5 rounds of golf, I'll pass!)

My best friend from high school, Lindsey, took some amazing pictures of Dylan, which I can't wait to share with everyone...stay tuned! If any one lives in the Charlotte area, she is fantastic, I can't say enough about her! You can see a sneak peek of Dylan's photo shoot on her blog: www.lindseyturner.blogspot.com. You can also check out her website: http://www.lindseyturnerphotography.com/ to see more of her amazing work.

Dylan and I also got the pleasure of spending time with my dear childhood friend, Mollie and her sweet Caroline. Sorry Tony, but I think Dylan and Caroline are in love! Check out the picture below. They were so cute together. They played all afternoon and took simultaneous naps while Mollie and I got to catch up. It was so nice!

How cute are they?!!!

While Dylan and I were visiting Grammy and Papaw, my aunt, Terri and her boyfriend Phillipe, and my uncle Pepe and aunt Rosie were also visiting my parents, and Joey came on Saturday...we had a packed house and it was GREAT! We all had such a good time laughing and just spending time together! I can't wait to see everyone again! Dylan did great, he weighed in at 24 lbs, 6 oz (50%) and 32.5 inches long (75%). Doctor says he is going to be a tall guy, we'll see. He also got 3 shots! I think I hate the shots just as much as he does. Dylan gave the nurse the meanest look on our way out. The nurse asked him for a high five, but he wasn't having it. It was kind of funny, I mean would you happily give someone a high five who just poked you 3 times with a needle?!!! He is also doing great developmentally. He passed all his little tests with flying colors...I always get a little nervous, but he did great. Am I a proud mommy or what?!!!

What a BLAST!

What an awesome vacation! I must admit I was extremely nervous about leaving Dylan, but after I found out that my cell phone would work at ALL times I was OK. I called Dylan at least twice a day (we will see what my phone bill is next month...Ahhh!)

Anyways, our trip started off to a crazy start. We boarded the ship at around 12:30 pm and by 5:00pm I was a little sick and took a little nap. I have been out of the drinking scene for about 2 years now so it took me a little while to catch up with my counterparts. I awoke about 2 hours later and we were already sailing! Oops, I guess I missed the grand send off! Needless to say, my fellow travelers were ready for dinner and bed. Day two was great. We spent the day at sea, sunbathing and again enjoying a few cocktails! We ended the night with Lauren and Jean Paul knocking on our door with a bottle of Dom Perignon and chocolate covered strawberries--YUM to celebrate how much fun we were having! Day three - Belize; not our favorite stop. Aaron was feeling a little under-the-weather, but managed to tandem out to Belize to check it out. The food was yucky and the people a little scary so we decided to go back to the ship and hang out. It was perfect, we had the ship to ourselves and had a blast! Day four - Cozumel, Mexico! Let's just say I was boosted! I had never been to Mexico so I was excited to see what it was all about. Lauren heard of a great place to go so we jumped in a taxi and headed out. Our cab driver was great, he told us of a place, Mr. Sanchos, where we could go to the beach, snorkel, and have drinks and do everything without paying a cover, so we decided to go for it. The boys got in the water first and could not believe how many fish were swimming all around them, so the girls decided to take a look for ourselves. There was this crazy lady there with all of her snorkel gear on throwing bread at all the fish. As she began to throw the bread in our direction hundreds of fish began jumping all around us! Who needs to pay all of this money for an excursion--all you need is a crazy lady with some bread! After a couple of hours at the beach, we wanted to see more of Cozumel so Carlos n' Charlies here we come! OK, this place is OUT-OF-CONTROL!!! There were Mexican men pouring shots in every one's mouth and another playing pranks on everyone--hilarious! After lunch we decided to try and find another spot and we came across, The Waffles House Beach Club, another great place. We all got to snorkel and ended our visit to Cozumel. Next stop - Key West, FL!!! We all LOVE Key West! My recommendation to any one who wants to go on a beautiful, fun vacation, Key West is the place to go! We had an amazing lunch at Sloppy Joes, enjoyed drinks at Hogs Breath, and some laughs at a bar named Rick's. Afterwards, we boarded the ship and off we went to our final destination - home (Ft. Lauderdale). We enjoyed another bottle of Champagne as the sun set on Key West! What a finale to an amazing trip!

The next morning I was very anxious to get home. Although the car ride home was only about 30 minutes, it felt like hours. I wanted to jump out of the car and run to Dylan as he run towards me where we would have this long hug followed by a million smackers (that's what I call kisses) and everything would be perfect....not exactly the way it went! Dylan did not have the same dream. My son wanted NOTHING to do with me! Yes, you read it right, he would not even look at me for about 2 hours. (I think he was punishing my for leaving him, and it worked!) Let's just say I was heart-broken, although nothing made me happier than knowing how much Dylan and Grammy bonded. He LOVES his Grammy and Papaw! After a couple of hours Dylan warmed up to me and forgave me. Thank goodness, because I don't think I could ever have left him again!

Here are a few highlights from our trip...

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5186533883215373058" style="DISPLAY: block; We all fly to Miami on Saturday, and leave with Lauren and Jean Paul (Aaron's sister and brother-in-law) to Belize, Cozumel, and Key West on Monday. My parents are driving from North Carolina to Miami in order to take care of Dylan for us. That way they get a little vacation out of it as well, and visit with family. Aaron's mom is taking care of Jack, Lauren and Jean Paul's son, for the week. We are all very excited about a much needed vacation, but I am having minor panic attacks about being in the middle of the ocean, away from Dylan for 5 days! We know that Grammy and Papaw are going to take GREAT care of him while we are gone, but I have NEVER left him overnight, and for 5 days, I am definitely freaking out! Anyways, I hope to let everyone know how our trip goes and how Dylan does without us!

Daddy and Dylan

Mommy and Dylan

How can you not miss that little face?!!!

Daddy the Barber

So Aaron and I decided that Dylan was ready for his first haircut, or should I say trim. Dylan hasn't been the most blessed in the hair department, but his hair was starting to resemble Donald Trump so we decided to cut it. I told Aaron that I would take Dylan to a little kids cut place, you know the one where people know what they are doing and actually do it for a living, but Aaron insisted that he was perfectly qualified for the job. It started out where Aaron wanted to just use a comb and scissors and was under the impression that our little nugget would just sit in his high chair, perfectly still and let Daddy do his thing, well Dylan was not quite on the same page. The minute Dylan saw the scissors, he was like you are NOT using those on me! It was hilarious! Kristen (Aaron's sister) and I just sat there and laughed, but Aaron was determined. We had a brilliant idea, just give Dylan a lollipop and let him watch TV and he will sit still enough for Aaron to do his thing. Poor Dylan has been a deprived child, he has never eaten any kind of candy, that is until it was time for a haircut! Let's just say there was no taking that lollipop away from him. Check out the pictures of Aaron attempting to cut Dylan's hair while he holds on to "lolly" for dear life!

"Ok, this isn't so bad!"

"Yummy!"

By the way the haircut continued the next day in the back yard with a ball and jelly beans! Daddy had a few "touch-ups" to do on his materpiece! And finally, our little angel's "trim" was complete!

Oh No He Didn't!!!

I wake up this morning to the beautiful sound of my angel talking to himself in his crib at 8:45am! (Yes, he slept from 8 pm until 8:45 am!!!) So I routinely go to the restroom and then go into Dylan's room to greet him lovingly. He smiles at me and then all of a sudden starts jumping and screaming "Dad, Dad, Dad." I turn around and see Aaron enter the room right behind me. What??? I nursed this little one for a year, take care of him every day for 15 and 1/2 months, and he goes crazy when he sees Daddy?!!! This can't be. So I try not to let it bother me, until Aaron picks him up and starts to change his diaper and says to me, "here take over, I'm going to make coffee." All of a sudden Dylan starts crying and yelling "Dad, Dad, Dad." Aaron then begins to feel really sorry for me and says something like, "be nice to Mommy." Like that helps. Anyways, Dylan calms down and I get him dressed for the day. We proceed downstairs and Dylan jumps down from my arms and goes running to Aaron like he hasn't seen him in days hugging his leg and saying "Dad, Dad."

Ok, so why am I sharing my heartbreak with everyone you might ask, because I want everyone to feel sorry for me!

What a GREAT weekend!

A couple of weeks ago some of our dear family came to visit in order to celebrate our niece, Brittany's, 11th birthday!
